Q: When does registration open?
A: Registration typically opens in July and closes in mid-August before Burning Man.
Q: How many friends can I bring?
A: All friends of the skydiving community are welcome to join Burning Sky.
Q: I’m signing up to skydive. Can I camp with Burning Sky?
A: Yes.
Q: What do Members need to do?
A: Help run Burning Sky in all ways all the time. All Burning Sky members will sign up for a work shifts for running the camp and the drop zone. Everyone will need to ensure they are leaving no trace (picking up “MOOP” — not just your own), helping out their fellow campmates, and helping to ensure that camp is a nice place to be.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: It is a cost sharing endeavor. Your share of the cost.
Q: Is there a meal plan?
A: No. We’re all about radical self-reliance. But usually there is a community kitchen where you can cook your food. We also usually have potable water for cooking and drinking (not for showers).
Q: What else does camp have?
A: We also have a shower with evaporation system. You just need to supply your own water, and we recommend bringing a solar shower unless you like cold water.
Some years we bring an art car. When it’s not ferrying people between camp and the airport, we take it out on the playa at night with lights and music.
We have a gray-water (wastewater) disposal tank (not for RVs), USB charging station, and more.
And you get to camp with your sky family with a guaranteed place to set up and won’t need to scramble for land on arrival to Black Rock City.
