Are you interested in Eel jumps or Night jumps at BM?

Hi Sky peeps,
This will be my 5th year at Burning Sky and I have been amazed at the jumpers and organizers involved in performing group eel jumps and night jumps every year. 
I also love that our camp provides airplane rides for jumpers and for fireflys/nonjumpers to experience BRC from above. 
I hope to see our camp continue to provide BRC with our unique, beautiful sky art. 
I encourage you to get involved and contribute/volunteer in some way big or small to support this camp.

This is a preliminary post to gauge who’s interested in participating in specialty/performance jumps. More concrete details regarding these jumps will be posted soon.
If you are so inclined, please respond to one or more of the following lines of inquiry.
1)   Are you interested in participating in a group eel jump?  There are some loaner eels available so you don’t necessarily have to have your own to participate.
2)   In addition to the loaner eels, how many people have/are bringing their own eel?
3)   Are you interested in participating on the night jump on Friday?
4)   Any related questions, suggestions, ideas?

For inspiration I thought I'd throw up some photo evidence of what a sunset eel load looks like to the crowd and why it's so important to make this happen at every sunset this year.

Put 8 or 12 eels on a simultaneous long final at sunset and the whole city starts cheering. It's a big show for them, and it's not too difficult to set up.

Eel and Night Jumps Organizing.
Let's Jump Eels Lots!  Why?  Because It's Our Unique visual contribution to residents of Black Rock City.  Because apparently someone higher up in the BM organization has forgotten our Awesome Artistic Contributions so let's get Eels in the air all day, every day to help them ooohhhh and ahhhh and remember how beautiful they are!
Because it rocks!  Jumping Eels alone or with friends is Very, Very, VERY fun!!!

I'll be organizing Eel Jumps and Night Jumps this year.  Please sign up for Night Jumps and Sunset Load Eel Jumps for Thursday through Sunday at Manifest.  A jump token holds your spot.  Details about Night Jump and Sunset Load Eel Jump organizing will be available at Manifest when you sign up. 
 
If you haven't jumped an Eel before or its been awhile and you'd like to get a briefing and try out a loaner Eel, meet me at Manifest a half hour before the first load Thursday through Sunday morning.  In year's past, first load has gone up about 11 am, so Eel briefings and loaners will happen at 10:30 each morning.  We'll try to keep loaner Eels available throughout the day at Manifest for anyone so inclinded.  Yeah!  Jump Eels Lots!!!

Julie and I are bring our eels and plan to jump them.  We are both planning/hoping to night jump as well.  Our LED suits have been put together and working.  Trina will be happy that we cleaned them as well.

Eel Jumps
YES, do come jump an eel.  Yes, we have loaners at manifest.  There will be an eel briefing Thur., Fri., Sat., and Sun., at 10:30 am, also at manifest for anyone who wants it. 
There will be an organized, choreographed, (well, we'll try!) eel jump Thur -Sun at Sunset.  Sign up at Manifest.  A jump token holds your spot. 
I encourage anyone interested to go out, jump an eel alone, in loose groups, and/or in coordination at other times of the day.
Let's keep these beauties in the air for the city to enjoy!

I am interested in night jumps and more eel jumps. After jumping a loaner Eel in 2008 we made one of our own. It is 75ft long and flies great. It is all black with a large toothy head. On high overcast days it stands out with great contrast. I will be bringing it out this year and I'd like it build another before then too.
